Sigenergy Platinum InstallerNew for Brisbane homes
Brisbane homes can now run a full 7kW EV charger. Energex dropped the 20A limit on 1 October 2026.
Brisbane prices
EV charger installation in Brisbane costs $1,500 to $2,500 for a 7kW home EV charger, supplied and installed, in most homes. If your switchboard needs an upgrade, the job starts from $2,800. You get one fixed price in writing before we start.
| Brisbane installation | Price, supplied and installed |
|---|---|
| Sigenergy 7kW charger, single-phase, modern switchboard | $1,500 to $2,500 |
| With a switchboard upgrade | From $2,800 |
| Sigenergy 11kW or 22kW charger, three-phase | Quoted after photo check |
| Townhouses, units and commercial sites | Scoped per site |
Every price includes the dedicated circuit, circuit protection, mounting, the Energex notification, testing with your car and app set-up.
Older Brisbane homes: many older Queenslanders and post-war houses still have ceramic fuses or a full switchboard. That’s the most common reason a Brisbane job moves into the upgrade price. Send us a photo of your switchboard and we’ll tell you which price applies.
Energex, 1 October 2026
All of Brisbane is on the Energex network. Until 1 October 2026, Energex limited a single-phase home charger to 20A (about 4.6kW) unless a network-controlled device was fitted. That rule is gone. A single-phase charger can now run at 32A, about 7.4kW, with no extra device.
For a Brisbane commuter, home EV charging now adds roughly 40 km of range for every hour on the charger. A typical day’s driving is back in the car overnight. We still check your home’s maximum demand and lodge the Energex notification for you. Read the full Queensland rules.
The charger

22kW
V2H
Every Sigenergy AC charger uses the Type 2 connector found on almost every electric vehicle sold in Australia. It is IP65 weatherproof for an open carport and has scheduled charging in the mySigen app.
Solar EV charging
Grid power costs 28 to 32 cents per kWh. Pair the charger with a Sigenergy SigenStor system and it fills the car from spare rooftop solar instead. On a clear day that adds 60 to 80 km of range from your own roof.
Add the DC charging module and a compatible EV becomes a backup battery. When a summer storm takes out the power in your street, the car can run the house.

Where we install
We handle EV charger installation in Brisbane from the bayside to the western suburbs:
We quote Brisbane jobs from photos, so you don’t wait for a site visit to get a price.
Townhouses, units and business
Townhouse and unit owners need body corporate approval and, often, load management so several cars can share one supply. We prepare the technical details your body corporate will ask for before you put in the request.
For Brisbane workplaces and car dealerships, we design multi-bay charging that stays within your site’s capacity. Dealers can also partner with ESC to book a home charger for every EV buyer.

Most Brisbane installs take two to three hours. Jobs with a switchboard upgrade usually take most of a day.
Your electrician notifies Energex, and we lodge it for you. Since 1 October 2026, a single-phase charger up to 32A no longer needs a network-controlled device.
Usually, yes. Homes with ceramic fuses or a full switchboard need an upgrade first, which we price upfront. Sometimes load management avoids the upgrade.
We install across greater Brisbane, from Moreton Bay to Logan and from Ipswich to the Redlands. Send your suburb with your quote request and we’ll confirm.
Yes. Send photos of your switchboard and where you park, and we’ll send a fixed price. We only visit if the photos don’t show enough.
Not from Brisbane City Council or the Queensland Government. A federally funded ARENA trial has offered limited-time discounts on chargers that let the network adjust charging, for homes on the Energex network. For most solar homes, charging from your own roof is the bigger long-term saving.
Yes, but a 10A power point adds only about 12 km of range an hour to an electric vehicle. A 7kW EV charger is about three times faster, on its own protected circuit.
