Eligible Queensland homeowners can receive around $250 per kWh towards a new solar battery system.

Batteries from 5kWh are eligible, with rebate support on up to 50kWh of usable capacity and savings of up to around $6,400.

A tiered rebate structure is now in effect, with the highest support for systems under 14kWh.

The rebate steps down again on 1 January 2027, so systems installed this year receive more support.

The federal Cheaper Home Batteries Program is administered by the Clean Energy Regulator under the Small-scale Renewable Energy Scheme.
